Identifying traits: Very tanned and well built, with bleach-light hair pulled back in a ponytail.
Appearance: Tifain is a tall young man of handsome build. He spends most of his time out in the sun, cruising along any body of water available, so his skin is tanned and his hair bleached. He's got a few faint scars across his back from encounters with unfriendly shores, but nothing too terrible. He never sunburns.
Personality: Tifain is furiously outgoing, terribly adventurous, and wonderfully ready to get himself into trouble. He loves anything to do with water, fishing, or sailing and gets along well with shipfish. Somewhat irresponsible, he loves shirking his duties to go sailing with his firelizard companion. Despite that, he absolutely loves people, and is a near-instant friend to anyone who approaches him. Tifain speaks with an odd accent due to his origins in the far-south, and sometimes people have trouble speaking with him.
History: Tifain was raised near Southern Hold and spent most of his childhood escaping his seven sisters by taking to the sea. He built his first boat, a raft, when he was eight, and ended up nearly drowning in a storm at sea. That didn't stop him though, and he continued to design and sail his own watercraft, sometimes disappearing for days on end exploring distant cotholds and getting to know people. He impressed a green firelizard when he was fifteen and was searched at eighteen to Tanora Weyr. Rather than travel by dragon he elected to join the weyr by his favorite boat, the Swellfish.
