Identifying traits: The major tough-guy aura
Appearance: S'lan is the all time tough guy. He stands 6'3" with a somewhat stocky build, very muscular and rough looking. His hair is black as the shadows of midnight, long, reaching to his shoulders, and always pulled into a pony tail. S'lan's eyes are dark brown, framed by his dark eye brows. He never has a clean shave with tanned, weathered skin. His nose is narrow, but well defined, slightly crooked from being broken so many times. S'lan has a knife scar running from just above his eye brow, skipping over his eye, and dragging down to mid-cheek. His cheeks are well defined, and under all his ruffness, he is a rather handsome man.
Personality: S'lan is ruff and tough, inside out. He grew up Bitra! S'lan knows how to fight, when to fight, and who to fight. He shows no emotions and has the street smarts to survive is the most back-stabbing place in all of Pern. But deep inside, he really is a soft guy, though he never shows it. S'lan has morals and ethics, things like 'live by the sword and die by the sword' and 'defend the innocent.' That's probably why he impressed a dragon. Despite growing up in Bitra, he has a good heart, though his normal never shows it. Mostly, he'll just brush off people and go on his way. People see his as cold and unfeeling, but he really is a good guy.
History: S'lan grew up in Bitra. The scum of Pern. He grew up on the streets, among thieves and murderers. He learned how to fight dirty and how to fight fair. In one hard lesson, he nearly lost an eye, thus his scar, by saving a small kid from a dirty thief after a good time. S'lan realized there were innocent people being preyed upon by such sick people. He began developing ethics and morals and fighting for them. Then, he got sick of Bitra and left. On his travels, he traveled among Holdless, learning from their example. In coming, S'lan came upon Ista Weyr. There he was asked to stand as a Candidate and impressed. Brown Heldanth and S'lan were masters of mayhem. They constantly got into mischief, though nothing horrible because S'lan still lived by his ethics. When Heldanth and S'lan graduated from Weyrlinghood to Full riders, S'lan requested transfer to Tanora. Thus they came to Tanora Weyr.

on the verge of being black in color. He is healthy
and muscular, equally as gruff as his rider. He is stocky in build
and very
muscular, plus physically fit. Heldanth is also emotionally like
his
rider, strong willed, stubborn, can be temperamental, but also has a good
heart. He hates to be idle for too long, with the exception of sun
bathing. Flirtting is plus, but not the first of things to do on
his list.
