Identifying traits: Ateacina has a star-shaped scar on her left shoulder (her first encounter with a feline)

Appearance: Ateacina has long, black hair and deep saffire-blue eyes. She has an gold- amber complexion and is 5"12 tall. She is a little to thin for her height, but has long leggs and elegant hands. She has the body of a dancer. She has a scar on her left shoulder and a few barely-visible freckeles on her nose. Her eyes always seem to smile, altough there is a slight glare of pain and sadness weaved into that happynes. It only shows when she has been unhappy or when she has drunken to much... She has a friendly mouth whereof the corners curl a bit up. She usualy wears her hair loose, but when she has to work, she wears it in a tight braid. She wears long, loose black or dark blue skirts (with black trousers under them in winter) and a black shirt, or bloodred dresses, anything that fits with her hair and eyes. When she dances or is working, she wears soft leather black shoes, and when she isn't, she prefers to walk on bare feet.

Personality: Ateacina is a friendly girl with a lot of dreams. She is very patient and has a very good memorie. Altough she wanted to become a dragonhealer, she was more fitted for healer research. She is shy when there are boys around, but loves to gossip about them. She makes her own perfume, and doesn't want to tell anyone the ingredients, altough it smells very well. runners and flits seem to like her (must be her perfume ;-)), but Felines and Canines prefer to scratch her, or yawn at her. She has a soft, calm voice, and is a good singer, and a good dancer. She can be very eurm... honest at some times, hurting peole with her knowing it.

There is something peinful in her eyes that make it dificult to look at her when she's angry with you, since she can almost kill you with her eyes then... But behind that dangerous attitude, she is affraid of men...

History: She was born in Lemos Hold, daughter of a Headwoman and a Stablemanager. She didn't like to hang around near the kitchens, since her mother desperately wanted her to become her replacer when she grew older. She spent most of her time laying in the grass, looking at the animals and clouds. She also hung out near her father a lot; he learnt her how to train runners and ride them proparly. when she was 10 turns old, she saw a feline, but it didn't realy seem to like her, and put its claws in her shoulder. She still has remains of the scar in her left shoulder. When she was 12, she went to Healer Hall at Fort, praying she would become a healer, but since her memorie was better than her healing skills, she was sent to the library to do research. Altough she was still pretty young, she already drew a lot male attention, but she kind of ignored that. She had promised her heart to Sorin. Later on, she was sent on the field to search for new flowers that would help the people of Pern. While she was wandering around out there, she sang to herself and collected flowers she liked. She made a special perfume of them, and since then, she always wears the same, soft essence that seems to calm down both man and (certain) animals. There was one man, who just couldn't understand she didn't love him, and that was Gayle, Fort's oldest Lord Holder's son. He asked his father permission to marry her, witch her got, never caring if she liked him or not. When she had just become 14, a Searchwing came to take her to Fort Weyr to Stand, which she was very grateful up, since it would give her a chance to escape Gayle, who couldn't leave the Hold. But she didn't Impress. When she heard about a clutch at Tanora Weyr, she asked one of the younger bronzeriders, who liked her a lot, to take her to Tanora Weyr. At her stand shere, she didn't Impress either, but S'rin did. She was very happy for him, but as soon as he had Impressed, he dropped her like a stone. She wasn't good for him anymore. Her heart was broken, but she tried to recover, which she did, with her flit's help and some friends who didn't drop her.

Pet(s) appearance/personality: Dark is a pretty, brown firelizard with the ego and prestige of a bronze. He's very protective of Ateacina, whom he sees as his mother. He never leaves her side and helps her with her research.

Speedos is a black runner with dark brown manes and black eyes. He is strong and is bred for long-distance running. He likes Ateacina a lot, and doesn't accept anyone else to ride him. He also doesn't like it when Ateacina rides other runners than him.
