Appearance: Her dark brown hair is slightly wavy and is ussually pulled behind in into a bun at the nape of her neck, but it ussually doesn't stay in the bun. It prefers to wiggle itself free and frame her face with whisps of hair. Her eyes , once a light brown, are now a the creamy white of a blind person. Her skin is rough and tanned from long hours spent in the sun. She is rather short, and very skinny. Her cheeks are slightly sunken in, and all this results from never getting enough to eat. She has countless minor scratches and scars crisscrossing her legs and arms from tramping through underbrush. She has the potential to be pretty, but because of the harsh life she has lived up until now her rather good looks have never had a chance to shine through.
Personality: Despite her rather harsh up bringing Alexa is a sweat, loving, hardworking, selfless girl. She is can be fiercly loyal, and is an invaluble friend to have. She is terribly indecisive, and she gets things done best when others make her decisions for her. She oftens feels insignificant, and can't see for the life of her why anyone would possibly want to be her friend. She autimatically assumes that people look down upon her and disregard her. She under assumes her own improtance. She aims to please everyone, but this can sometimes run her down.
History: Born the third child and first daughter of a holdless pair Alexa has never had an easy time of life. As she grew up she had to shoulder the responsiblitly as second mom to the younger children at an early age. If she wasn't helping mind the younger children she was out with her mother searching for tubbers, or anything else that might help feed their large family of nine. Often her father would come back to camp with goods that they couldn't have possibly have bought. This never settled well with Alexa but she had no other choice but to turn her head the other way.
At the age of seventeen Alexa came down with a very high fever. It took her sight. She was just on the verge of recovering when they found out she was blind. All the sudden her situation was very different. She was no longer able to contribute to the feeding and taking care of the family. She was just another mouth to feed. So they left her, still feverish, outside Tanora weyr. And while they were said to see her go; they hoped she might have a chance to survive there...
